The barque Empreza, from Newcastle to this port was sighted on the coast by the Rotokino, and should arrive to-day. To-morrow the Union Company's steamer Rotokino leaves for Timaru. The Union Company's steamer Dingadee leaves for the East Coast and Wellington to-morrow afternoon. At Hokianga the barque Woosung has completed her loading for Melbourne and will sail the first favourable slant. Her cargo consists of 84,692 feet of baulk and 451,223 feet of sawn kauri timber. The barquentine Waitemata, Captain Nilsson, arrived from Newcastle yesterday afternoon, alter a good passage of ten days. She brings a cargo of coal, coke, and timber. The Northern Company's steamer Ohinemuri leaves on her usnal monthly trip to the North to-morrow afternoon. The White Star liner Delphic is to pay her maiden visit to the colony next November. THE TASMANIA. At 3.30 o'clock this morning the HuddartParker steamer Tasmania, Captain Thomas McGeo, arrived from Sydney with a number of passengers and a large general cargo. The purser, Mr. Knowles, reports: The Tasmania left Sydney at 5.50 p.m. on the 14th, and cleared Sydney Heads the same date at 6.25 p.m., the Three Kings were abeam at 9.55 a.m. on the 18th, and had Cape Maria abeam at 10.45 a.m.! rounded the North Cape at 0,25 a.m., and Cape Brett was abeam at 6.25 p.m. the same date, and the harbour made as above. Experienced fresh south to south-east winds and moderate sea to the North Cape, thence moderate southerly wind and smooth sea to arrival. The Tasmania leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at noon to-morrow. THE ANGLIAN. The Huddart-Parker steamer Anglian left Wellington on Thursday last for the North. In the ordinary course she should have called at Napier on Friday and Gisborne on Saturday, reaching this port yesterday afternoon. Not being reported from either Napier or Gisborne at a late hour last night, and heavy weather prevailing along the coast gives rise for some anxiety as to her safety, owing to her being so much behind time. Providing that the steamer could not call at Napier ana Gisborne, she should have arrived at this port yesterday morning. She leaves this morning for Norfolk Island and Melanesia under the command of Captain M. Huggett. Bishop Wilson will be a passenger by the yacht to the islands. THE INDRAMAYO. The Tyser liner Indramayo, from London, Melbourne, and Sydney, is due to-d«y, anil leaves for the South on discharge. THE FLORA. The Union Company's steamer Flora is due from the South on Friday, and leaves for Fiji the same evening, THE WARSHIPS. The Penguin left Sydney for Fiji and Honolulu on the 10th inst. for the purpose of surveying the proposed cable route. The Rapid left Sydney for a cruise to the South Sea Islands on the 10th inst. The Rapid proceeds to the Solomon Islands in reference to the recent murders in the group. A report has been received by the naval authorities at Sydney, giving the result of a trial trip of H.M.B. Whiting, a torpedo boat destroyer, built by Palmer's Shipbuilding Company. She was run a number of times over the measured mile, when an average speed of 30.2 knots was obtained, and she was kept running for three hours at an average speed of 30.1 knots per hour. _ The machinery and boilers worked in a highly satisfactory manner.
