CONVALESCENT HOME VERSUS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— the question of whether a Convaa lescent Home or a Children's Hospital should be undertaken, I would like the public to give the following thoughts their deepest consideration. The children being young and full of life, are therefore bettei able to cope with hardships and regain bodily strength more rapidly, most of them will have homes or kind friends to go to when convalescent, and failing those, orphan homes. But poor men and women when discharged from the Hospital feel ill, and are naturally depressed in spirits. They have probably no money, no home, and a difficulty in findiug work. I think therefore that a Convalescent Home has the greatest claim to be adopted as our method of commemorating the record reign.—l am, etc., B.
