Robertson.—ln this case the plaintiffs claimed the sum of £4 3s 4d, said to be due in respect to a call payable on certain shares on or about January 14, in the above company. Mr. Burton appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr. Baxter for defendant. The evidence in the case was taken on a former Court day, the defence set up being to the effect that the defendant had no dealings as a member of the company, nor was he liable to pay calls. His Worship non-snited plaintiffs, holding that no contract for taking shares had been proved as between the company and defendant. Mr. Brock appeared for plaintiff, and defendant conducted her own case. After hearing the defendant's statement, His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for the amount claimed, and cost; 6s John- King v. Government Insurance Commissioner.— this case John King Iplaintiff) late agent of the Government Life insurance Department, of Auckland, claims to recover the sum of £25 los from the defandaut, for services rendered in hit official capacity. Mr. Jackson Palmer appeared for plaintiff, and defendant was represented by Mr. Besketh (Hesketh and Richmond). The case is to be heard before the Stipendiary Magistrate at Wellington, and Mr. King yesterday made a sworn statement iu support of his claim, the same to bo taken as evidence at the hearing.
