THE AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING. Yesterday morning broke very threatening; but the rain kept off until training operations were pretty well concluded. Daystar cantered on the tan, being brought home from the half-mile post by Acmilla, Nestor, in company with Miss Nelson, put in a half-pace gallop on the plough, which extended to a couple of circuits. Haria, who looks well, put in a circuit on the plough with Lufra. The course proper being thrown open, several of the two-year-olds were galloped there. St. Couon put in a strong six fnrlongs by himself, while Defiant had a couple of companions iu Eton aud St. Crispin over a like journey. Atalanta was by error omitted from the list of acceptances for the Railway Handicap. THE A.R.C. COMMUTER. The committee of the Auckland Racing Club held a meeting yesterday ternoon_ for the purpose of holding an inquiry into several matters affecting certain jockeys. A large amount of evidence was taken, and when the committee rose it was stated that the majority of cases are left in an open state, pending further evidence. It transpires, however, that the committee hare determined to suspend J. Perry until certain evidence is procured. THE AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB'S MEETING. It was recently Announced that as a result of Mr. W. R. Wilson's trip to England, it is not unlikely Aurum, Wallace, and one or two perhaps more— of the St. Albans collection will shortly be shipped across the seas. The English mail to hand throws further light on the matter, for Mr, W. Allison, who, it is stated, is in regular communication with Mr. Wilson, makes the following pertinent reference in the London Sportsman :-" He will stay here some months, and has it in contemplation to organise a regular campaign of the beat Australian horses in this country. Wallace, the famous son of Carbine, is now, I am glad to hear, all right again and perfectly sound. There never was anything seriously wrong with him, and if all goes well from now be will be as hard to beat as ever his sire was for the next Melbourne Cup. Auraria, Trenton's equally famous daughter, is also reported sound after her long rest, and she, too, may be seen in the country. Mr. W. R. Wilson has another good horse of the older division named Havoc, by Nordenfeldt out of Frailty (dam of Trenton). Mr. W. R. Wilson was asked by cable some little time ago to sell his three Trenton two-year-old colts Majestic, Reliance, and Aurum, to an English buyer, but he replied declining to put a price on them, for be says' they all three show splendid promise,' and it appears racing prospects at the Antipodes are now brighter than they were. The three colts referred to are likely to come, to England I when they hare woo their Australian engagerappV. y, - M *..s, : j, : >;>.....'.
