Both sides are accusing each other of slandors, No less a personage than Lady Stout protests against the language used by one of the candidates, and her protest is criticised in terms that fall very short of courtesy, or indeed respectful consideration. Unfortunately the majority of applicants are not physically strong enough for very hard work. Thus it is very difficult to place them. The opening of the labour settlement at Otaihapo has been the means of considerably relieving the labour market Here. During the month 19 men were sent to Government and 15 to private employment.
