It is announced that) Mr. Wtinoh, of Ipswich, who has of late years been so successful in the malting barley competitions in London, is giving prominence to a new variety of barley, " Wrinch'a Prolific," introduced by him in 1894. He claims for it a heavy yield, large round berry, besides being very stiff in the straw, a hardy nature, and he strongly recommends it for the north, esoecially after sheep, and it is not of the Chevalier type. As Mr. Wrinch has during the last three years carried everything before him in all the mosbimportant barley competitions, a variety introduced by him should command the attention of growers.
