The Municipal Council of Newcastle has decided to purchase ten thousand blocks of New South Wales mahogany, and a similar quantity of blackbutt to be selected by Mr. Richards, city surveyor of Sydney. The price is 115 shillings per load. Mr. Gavin Scott, of Sydney, has arrived in London on a mission connected with the export of Australian hardwood to Europe.
