[bi telegraph.—own correspondent.] Wellington, Tuesday. GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS. The eouth-easb wing Fβ to bo extended. The contract for timber (30,000 feet) has been let to Stewart and Co. Thia enlargement is mado to afford accommodation to the staffs of the Public Works and Railway Departments. WELLINGTON SUBURBS ELECTION. The possibilities connected with this struggle, which will take place about the 24th inst., havo aroused a new interesb in the contest. The I'remier takes to " tho stump" to-morrow nighb in Nowtown in favour of Mr. C. Wilson, the Government oandidato. Mr. A. R. Atkinson, tho Opposition candidate, is addressing meetings in different parti of the electorate. Mr. Fisher represented this district when it wns known as South Wellington, and was very popular. He throws his interesb asjainst Mr. Atkinson, and the combinod influence of Mr. Soddon and Mr. Fisher will strongly militate against Mr. Atkinson's chance. The roll contains 800 names less than at the last election. THE CONDEMNED CONVICT. Ministers havo had tho case of Bosher, found guilty of tho Petone murder and sentenced to death, under consideration. No decision has been como to, bub ic ie believed a final decision will bo arrived at to-morrow.
