MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Golden Caledonia (Cabbage Bay, April 8).-Six feet has been driven in No. 9 since last report, through hard country, leaving two feet more to the reef. There is every probability of the lead making gold wheu it gets into kinder country. Jay Gould (Port Charles, April 9).—No. 1 Molsaacs' has been extended 93 feet. A large stream ot water coming from the face. No. 2 tunnel has been extended 70 feet. From the appearnce of the quartz, I expect get gold at auy time. Midas (Kuaotunu, April 10).—Country on course of No. 1 is a good class of blue sandstone, interlaced with mineral and quartz veins. Will start to drive through reef on Monday. We have driven six feet on the course of one of the reefs reported last week. It is a strong body of stone two feet six inches thick, and carries a gooe class of mineral. Tairua Proprietary (Tairua, April 10).— Main level has been driven 283 feet, Country is still lying flat, and clay band is rising; up in the drive. Prospecting drives have been driven 34 feet for last fortnight. Moa (Whangamata, April 9). — Upper level is now in 62 feet. Country is tighter, carrying hard flinty soams, mixed with quartzite. Prospecting drive is in 67 feet, There is a change for the better in the country. Some quartz from surface above level gave a nice prospect in the dish. Martha Extended (Waihi, April 3).— Have driven 101 feet. Country still continues very solid, with quartz showing freely in face.

Prospect (Kuaotunu, April 10)— is now 18 feet, and no appearance of other wall. Ore shows gold at every test. Nil Desperandom (Tairua, April B).— Shaft has now been sunk 32 feet, A lode about 12 inches thick has been cut in the east end of shaft, but is not very well defined. Ixviota(Kuaotunu, April 8).-We have now connected No. 1 level with Mclnncs' level. Reef looks very promising just where we holed through, portions of it showing colours of gold. There are about 50 feet of backs obtainable. Cut No. 3 reef at a distance of 58 feet from the mouth. Stone carries nice looking mineral, but so far no gold has been seen. Aorere (Kuaotunu, April North end: The reef has been driven on for a further distance of eight feet. The reef here is very small. Rise: Reef here is 18 inches wide, and showed nice gold at last breaking-down. Total distance risen, 22 feet. Golden Anchor (Kuaotunu, April 10).— Low level crosscut is now in 451 feet. There has been a great improvement in the face, and the country is everything that can be desired tor gold. Evening Star (Kennedy's Bay, April 10). —No. 3 drive: No change, the country being much the same as last reported. Reef still broken, with bands of mulltok intersecting stone. Gold oan be obtained in prospecting this reel, Drive in Madge Hill is passing through sandstone full of mineral. It has been driven 215 feet. Drive from winze is not at present carrying gold. A bar of hard grey sandstone has pushed the reef out of its course, but it is making. West Derby (Kennedy's Bay, April 101.— Reef is unsettled and slightly broken up, but still carries gold. Have met small reef on footwall side carrying tine gold. Have opened out crosscut from lower level on small leader. Gold can be seen in quartz. Nonpareil (Thames, April Bottom level crosscut is in 75 feet. When the Wade reef was intercepted, it proved to be a nice compact body of stone one foot wide with good indications. Liverpool reef continues same size as previously reported. In breaking down we got a few colours of gold. New Wiuu (Thames, April 10). -Sinking winze has been continued. There is a welldefined reef from four to five feet wide: total depth of winze 95 teet. Wo have a little over 100 feet to sink, which will be completed by end of next week. We have 150 feet to drive to get to winze at the low level. Welcome Find (Coromandel, April 10).— Main reef lias attained 205 feet, The No. 2 drive lias been advanced 17 feet. When breaking down southern lode in stopes colours of gold were seen. Adelaide (Thames, April 10), — North drive on Adelaide reef has beeu retarded, a hard baud of flinty quartz crossing face, and striking off into the footwall. Reef is continuing usual thickness and appearance. Sloping on the Adelaide reel and driving east on the cross reef have been continued.

Imperial (Karangahake, April 10). Reef going southward maintains a well-defined thickness of 2J feet, and quartz coming to hand from this section is being saved for treatment. Samples have been sent to Paeroa for assay. Hauraki No. i (Coromandel, April 10).— West crosscut has been advanced 105 feet. Country very much improved. East crosscut is penetratiusr an excellent class of country. Total distance driven, 25 feet. Kafai-vermont (Kuaotunu, April 9),No. 2 level: Lode very large, being from 10 feet to 7 feet wide, and carries payable ore in the centre of reef. No. 2 rise is now through to No. 1 level, aud we are now timbering up to make everything secure. This will give us a splendid block of ground to work on, Stopes are all turning out a fair quantity of payable ore. Sections of rotary furnace are now in position, also small engine for driving. Mill: They have put in now liners, and everything is working smoothly; 242 ton* of ore nave been treated for the month, for the return of 184oz gold, an improvement on previous month. Waitekauri Kathleen (Waitokauri, April 3).—Have driven 316 teet. Ground is bad for shooting, being very tough and dry. Inoa.— Have driven 16 feet on the Luck at Last reef. The dip of the country has carried the reef down with it; have started to pick it up wheee the country rises. Have driven 15 feet on the Triangle reef, which is a large body of quartz. Boss (Thames, April 12).-No. 2 reef has been driven 116 feet. Reef is still keeping up in size, but is somewhat split up. No. 3 reef also, and country channel, look promising. Bay View (Kennedy's Bay, April 10).Country much harder ; stone nicely charged with bright mineral. Waverley (Paeroa, April 10).-Orosscut is now in about 60ft, in good driviug ground. Expect to out reef any day. Criterion (Coromandel).-No. 2 level on No. 2 reef now iu 30ft. The country continues very favourable. A start has been made to excavate a site for sinking a shaft on the No. lor specimen leader. Will break down reef this week.
