TRAINING NOTES. At Ellertlie yesterday Daystar galloped about a mile and a-quarter on the plough, moving throughout in a very taking manner. St. Paul, in company with a couple of stable companions, was treated to a strong gallop on the tan, extending pretty well to a mile and a-half, in the accomplishment of which he moved with much freedom. Nestor, Haria, and Porangl Potae each put in satisfactory tasks. During the day Mozel and Miss Nolson were schooled over the steeplechase course ; they both fenced well, and Miss Nelson for once got round without making a mistake. TUB BETTING MARKET. There is no change to report in the betting on the Easter Handicap, Daystar and St. Paul are firm favourites at 6 to 4 and 2 to 1 respectively ; while Levanter and Mozel have been backed with the first-named at 10 to 1. ARRIVALS, In addition to St. Conon and Defiant, the Gisbome horses Three Star and The Indian were brought up to Auckland by the s.s. Manapouri. THE AUSTRALIAN JOUKEY CLUB'S MEETING. Reka is firm at 8 to 1, and the other quotations are: Creme d'Or, 12 to 1; Precaution and Adoration 14 to 1, Coil 100 to 6 ; Wollomumbi, Royal Rose, Aurea, 100 to 5; to which also, on the strength of his inferior display in the Hawkesbury Handicap, Hopscotch has receded. For the Sydney Cup, Tom is favourite at 8 to 1; Vivian, Battalion. Coil, and Resolute standing at 10 to 1; Reka and The Officer are quoted at 12 to 1. A NARROW ESCAPE. The jockey Cleal had a most uncomfortable rideon Adoration in the Hawksbury Handicap on Saturday. Themare bumped againsta fence and a cliree-iucli splinter went into deal's leg.
