Rice will be berthed at the Quay-street Jetty, and commence discharging her cargo from New York. 1 The Devouport Ferry Company's tug-boat Admiral was floated into the Auckland Dock yesterday, for cleaning and painting. On Sunday evening the brigantiue Defiance arrived at Napier from Newcastle. On discharge of her cargo of coal she proceeds to the Kaipara to load timber for Sydney. The schooner Awanui is to go on the hard for cleaning. She loads up next week for the East Coast and Gisborne. At twelve o'clock to-morrow night the Northern Company's steamer Ohinemuri leaves for the Great Barrier instead of the lona. The barque Kate Tatham sailed from Napier for Sydney on Saturday night. On the sth infant the barque Wenona sailed from Melbourne for Newcastle to load coal for Wellington. Messrs. Burns, Fhilp. and Co., of Sydney, have purchased the schooner Alice May for the Sydney-New Guinea trade. The sohooner Monarch has been fixed to load coal at Bulli for the Kaipara; thence timber to Sydney. At Kaipara the barque County of Ayr is loading timber at Messrs. Mitchelson Bros,' mill for Adelaide. The steamer Stella arrived from Wharekawa and Kennedy's Bay last night, with two rafts of logs, containing about '275,000 feet of timber. To-day the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Mamari will go down to the Powder Ground to re-ship a quantity of explosives. She will leave for Napier in the evening. Owing to being detained at Wellington the Union Company's steamer Mahinapua will not arrive at Onehunga until about 8 a.m. on Thursday. She leaves for New Plymouth and Wellington the same afternoon. THE ROTOMAHANA. The Union Company's steamer Rotomahaoa, Captain John Gibb, arrived from Sydney yesterday morning, with passengers and general cargo, Mr. A. C. Walker, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files, reports: — The Rotomahana left the Company's wharf, Sydney, at 3 p.m. and cleared the Heads at 3.40 p.m. on the 7th inst. Sighted the Three Kings at 7.30 a.m. and passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 12.30 p.m. on the 11th ; passed Tiritiri at 4.15 a.m. and berthed at the Queen-street Wharf at 6 a.m. yesterday. Moderate winds and heavy swell prevailed throughout the passage. The Rotomahana left for East Coast and Southern Ports last night. On arrival at Port Chalmers the steamer will be laid up. THE ALAMEDA. The mail steamer Alameda left Sydney for this port last evening. She is due on Friday evening, and proceeds to Apia, Honolulu, and San Franoisco at 2 p.m. on Saturday, THE INDRAMAYO. The Tyser liner Invramayo left Melbourne for Sydney on the 6Mi instant. On discharge the steamer comes on to this port, being due about Tuesday next. THE TASMANIA. The local agents, Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co., inform us that the Huddart-Parlter steamer Tasmania, from this port, arrived at Sydney at 2 a.m. on Saturday last, after an excellent passage. The Tasmania is to be docked for cleaning and painting at Sydney, and leaves for this port to-morrow evening. THE RATA. She left Wellington on the 10th, called at New Plymouth, and left the latter port at 4 p.m. on the 11th, arriving as above. The steamer left Main in the evening for New Plymouth, Wellington, and Lyttelton. The Northern Company's steamer Gairloch left for New Plymouth yesterday afternoon.
