THE BLACKS OF WEST AUSTRALIA.
THEIR TREATMENT DENOUNCED AS SLAVERY. Prw Associatlon.-Electric Telesraph.-Copyright London, April 8. Aithe annual meeting of the Aborigines Protection Society, Mr. John Morley referred to the evidence received froffi West Australia to the effect thai natives were being indentured to settlers, which he described as. a form of slavery. Hβ declared that the plea of the Premier of West Australia, that these natives were only employed for a specific time, was a repetition of the sophistry used in the defence of slavery. He expressed regret that it was found necessary to alter the rules so as to prevent policemen shooting natives until after they were attached by natives.
