Sydney, April 8. Hongkong papers to hand by the Eastern mail state that the Spaniards are meeting with stubborn resistance in the Philippines. The rebels bar* assed the Royalist troops by attacking convoys with ammunition and stores going to the front. The Spanish Government has been nsk'cd to send eight thousand additional troops. Large numbers of native troops are joining the rebels, who have plentiful supplier of firearms.
