[BY TEtEGRAPH.— OWJJ CORKBSPONDENT.] Thames, Thursday. At the meeting of the Borough Council, the Mayor referred in feeling terms to the death of the late Mr. J. 1). Colebrook, of Coromandel, and on his motion a letter of condolence is to be sent to deceased's widow. There was a large attendance of footballers at the annual meeting of the local Rugby Union, held in the Miners' Union Hall yesterday evening. Mr. T. Cantley occupied the chair. Tho report and balancesheet were read and ndopted. The former referred to the great loss Thames football had detained by the death of Messrs. L, Bhrenfried and H. Woods, and also by the departure of Messrs. James Christie and A. Pi. Greenslade. The.balance-sheet showed tho receipts to have been £218 143 6d, and the expenditure £201 3s, leaving a balance of £17 Us M. Thefollowjng officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. Jas. McGowau, M.H.R.; president, Mr. Thoa. Radford (Mayor); tice-presi-dents, Messrs. E. F. Adams, Dodd, Jas. Adams, Woodward, Montague, Clendon, Dunlop, Greenslade, Gaudin, Coney, Nosworthy, Millies, Bright, Myers, Coad, Kernick, and Lowe; lion, sec, as Mr. Geo. Buck'land declined to again officiate, it .was decided'to leave the appointment in the hands of the Management, Committee: —Hon. treasurer, Mr. T. Somerville; Management .Committee, Messrs. J'. McGregor, Pearce, Downee, McNeil), and Otto; auditors, Messrs. Aitken and O'Brien.' The meeting decided to siißgost to the Management Committee that no caps be presented this year.
