GORDON SPECIAL SETTLEMENT.

Ode TeAroha correspondent writes j—The annual special meetiug of the Gordon Special Settlement Association was held at Gordon on Saturday last, Mr. A. Thackeray occupying the chair. The balance-sheet, showing a balance on hand amounting to £63 2s 7d, was adopted. The following officers were elected: —James Orr, chairman; W. G. Osborn, treasurer; A. Thackeray, secretary; committee, Messrs. W. Kewsome, J. Squirrell, J. Brady, J. Carroll, and officers ex officio. In view of the near completion of the Association's ten years' term, and that the number of members would gradually decrease, the following resolutions were passed:—"That the resolution of the Association, requiring a quorum of eleven to constitute. a legal. general meeting, be rescinded, and the following substituted, viz.,' That future general meetings be held on the first Saturday in April, and shall be duly advertised twice by the secretary, and thata majority of those present thereafter shall consitute aquorum." The question of the cemetery was discussed, and five gentlemen were appointed to ajt as » body of management. The names of those chosen will be submitted to the Government for approval.
