Messrs. Buckland and.Sons' monthly cattle sale was held here on the 29th March, young Mr. Buckland officiating as auctioneer. A large number of settlers from this and surrounding districts were present. The yards were fairly filled with cattle, dairy cows, as usual, being in force. The prices were not high, . and consequently several pens were passed. The following were the ruling prices :—Dairy cows, young good beasts, from £4 to £5 7s fid; old, ordinary, and poor cows, from £2 10s to £3: dry cows, from £2 10s to £3; beef from 15s per cwt. upwards; good calves from 18s to 20s each: weedy calves, from 12s to 14s each pigs, offered iu good numbers, from six to eight weeks old, brought from 8s to 10s each. A few weeds of horses were offered and sold at from £1 os to £2 each. .
