A CONVALESCENT HOME.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—l was glad to see Mr. P. A. Philips again agitating this morning for a Convalescent Home which should be erected to commemorate this year of the Queen's reign. This, I certainly think, would he the best memorial of such an ever-memorable year. At present there is un place where patients who leave the Hospital cured or incurable can go to except the Costley Home, which of course is only for the aged. I see by the last mail the Daily Telegraph has started a shilling iund, and has raised uearly '200,000 shillings for the nurses' fund. Could not space be found in'your columns for sucli a purposd ! If so, I will gladly contribute my portion.—l am, etc., F. W. King. Auckland, April 6, 1897.
