[FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] Hamilton, Tuesday. A MOST enjoyable farewell social to the Rev. and Mrs. Mather was held in the Marahmeadows school-room on Friday evening last. The chair was occupied by Captain Runciman, who in his opening remarks mentioned how sorry they all were to lose the rev. gentleman, as during his term of office he had endeared himself to ail classes throughout the district. A lengthy musical programme was gone through and enjoyed by all, a3 were also the refreshments provided in ample quantity by the ladies. The National Anthem was sung at the close of the meeting. A visit from a team of cricketers from the Manukau district is expected during the Easter holidays. Matches have been arranged for the following daces'l'e Awamutu on 21st instant, Taupiri on 22nd instant, and the Manukau Club versus a combined Wuikato team, at Hamilton, on the 23rd. Wuatawhata, Tuesday. A meeting of milk suppliers was held on Saturday. There was a large attendance and Mr. Higgiuson was voted to the chair. The principal reason for holding the meeting was to protest against the closing of the creamery, and a resolution to that effect was passed. The removal of the creamery was considered a great hardship, as the premises had been ereoted by the settlers themselves and leased to Messrs. Reynolds and Co. A list was handed in to the meeting showing that the milk of more than 350 cows would be forthcoming during the next season. _ It was decided to send a copy of the resolution to the manager of the Dairy Association in Auckland.

Mr. Grierson, school inspector, has been examining the various schools in this district for the last week or ten days. The number on our school roll now amounts to forty scholars.

Ohaupo, Tuesday. A meeting of the Church Committee was held on Sunday evening after service, when it was decided to purchase au American organ for tile use of the church. The new instrument will be used for the first time on Easter Sunday. Coromandel, Tuesday. Mfc Leslie Reynolds, C.E., accompanied by the County chairmau and the assistant engineer, returned yesterday from Kuaotunu, where Mr. Reynolds has been engaged in surveying the levels of the sludge channel. He is. at present preparing a report of his examination of Coromandel Harbour, with a view to locating the best site for a wharf v At the Magistrate's Court another Kennedy's Bay storekeeper was charged with unlawfully selling liquor. The case was dismissed. Mr. Whitaker appeared for the defendant.

On Saturday night a wrestling match between Sam Matthews, who is called the champion light weight of America (weight lOst 81b) aim Dan Leahy, ex-champion of Australia (about 13st), came off in the Caledonian Hall. With an interval of about ten minutes, the struggle lasted from eight p.m. to eleven p.m. The style was Gracoßoman. Leahy tried hard to get the strangling hold but failed, and no throw resulted. Both men were exhausted at the finish. The contest was for £25.

Great sympathy is expressed for Mrs. Colebroofc, who has lost her eldest son, Frank, so soon after the death of her husband. The young man was 22 years of age, and previous to his illness was a picture of health and strength. Te Aroha, Monday. The annual meeting of the Te Aroha Football Club was held in the Town Hall on Saturday night, Mr. Rennick, convener of the meeting, occupying the chair. There was a large attendance of members, both actual and prospective. The credit balance from the previous year was reported to he £1 4s 6d, and subscriptions for the forthcoming season was fixed at 2s per member. It was decided that the colours be blue and white, and the secretary was to write to the Waihou Domain Board, asking for permission to play in their reserve. It was further decided that there should only be one club, with senior and junior teams. The following officers were elected Patron, Hon. A. J. Cadman. M.H.R.; presidents. W. H. Herries, M.H.R., and Francis Pavitt; vice-presidents, P. O'Meagher, G. Lipsey, A. W. Edwards, T. Gavin, T. Mclndoe, and J. Lavery; captain, A. Lipsey; vice-captain, J. Wright; committee, P. Lipsey, J. Maingay, aud captain, vice-captain, and secretary; secretary and treasurer, J. N. Rennick. A large number have signified their intention of joining the club. The following tenders were dealt with by the committee of the Piako County Council at Te Aroha on Saturday night No. 33, Gordon-Waharoa Road, 45 chains outfall drain, 186 chains side drain, aud 100 chains road formation: J.
