BRUNNER COALMINING CASE.

Hokitika, Tuesday. The coal mining case was continued today, the time being mainly occupied with the addresses of counsel, Mr. Gully took two hours and a-quarter, and Mr. Jellicoe four hours and twenty minutes. Mr. Justice Denniaton commenced summing up at seven this evening, and continued till twenty minutes past eight, when the jury retired. They returned at half-past eleven, and stated that there was no possibility of agreement, By consent of the parties the jury were discharged, the case to be heard bofore (he Judge within three weeks, with leave to apply for a new trial if necessary.
