Colebrook, died to day of typhoid fever, The other three typhoid patients patients in the loeal hospital are progressing favourably. [BY XISLEGRAPH,—PRESS ASSOCIATION,] Wellington, Monday. Alexander McVicara, manager of the Hawke'e Bay Freezing Works, baa received an appointment under the Government as additional Inspector of Machinery, and will probably have charge of tho Canterbury, Marlborough, and Weatland districts. The Government decided to have the photos taken of the Waitomo Caves and circulated with maps in order that these scenic attractions of the place may be properly advertised. Hokitika, Monday. Mr. Joseph Grimmond, formerly M.H.R. for this district, who contested the laat election with Mr. Seddon, is going to England, partly on pleasure and partly with the view of floating a company to bring a large water supply to the Rirau goldfield.
