MONDAY POPULAR CONCERTS.

Last evening the City Hall was as usual crowded, it being tho fourth of the present series of Sir. P. R. Dix's Monday Popular Concerts. The concert on the whole was a great success. Mr. Arch. Wallace, a recent arrival, made his first appearance, but eang under great difficulty as he was suffering from a eevore cold. Mr. Wallace haa a very good voice, with a, high register, and sang his first song, "May Morning," with a good deal of success, responding to the inevitable encore. He was far more successful with "The Carnival," and notwithstanding the state of his health, the higher notes especially were remarkably well taken; as an encore Mr. Wallice aaug with good effect "Sunshine Above" from the "Gaiety Girl." Miss Carrie Knight) was in excellont voice and sang " Espanita" and "Ever Since Then" in a most pleaeing manner, bowing her acknowledgments in each case. Tho mandolin solos of Mr. Wynyard-Joss wore one of the features of the concert, his fantasia, "Hibarnia," providing a rich musical treat. Encores were loudly demanded, both of which were responded to. Mr. Archdale Tayler, in "John Wellington Wells," was as successful as usual, and he gave as an encore " The Twine." Mr. Leslie Dix, whose reappearanne wai greeted with loud nppluuse, eang " The Songs I've Heard," splendidly, and in response to a recall gave " The Polka," in first-olass style. Mr. Reginald Burcb, who showed considerable improvement, was well received for both of hi< solos, and his duet with Miss C. Knight, "Brotherly Love," fairly brought the house down, Air, Patterson's recitation " Cricket at Killaloe," was well rendered, and a recall insisted upon. .Miss Ethel Boulton, a dtbutunle, seemed to suffer from extreme nervousness, otherwise ahe possesses a aweet though light soprano voice. The popularity of these concerts seems erer on the increase, and certainly the programme presented last evening was a highly meritorious oue on the whole. "
