At the meeting of the Town Board on Tue* day the chajrman stated that in the course ol a conversation with Mr. Cadman when here the other day, the Minister had expressed himself favourably in regard to the construetion of extra cooling tanks in connection with the Women's Swimming Bath, and th ( Blue Bath. Mr. Cadmau's attention was also drawn to the dilapidated condition of the library and reading room, and to the clause in the Thermal Springs Act, which delegates to the Board the power to builda "lodse, museum or other ornamental building - " Mr. Cadman stated that though the Government hid ceased to subsidise libraries, something miehl be done in the matter of a museum, whereby many curios now becoming rarer every day might be preserved. The chairman thought the Board might depend on Mr. Cadmau's co-operation in any scheme for the erection of h building of such a nature which mishtU brought forward. Some few weeks ago the Piako County Council applied to Mr. Cadman to use hit good offices iu securing a subsidy for them, to enable them to effect an extraordinarj number of repairs on the Te Aroha-Lichfisld Road, rendered necessary by the floods which occurred at the latter end of January. & communication has been received to the effect that the Minister of Mines has authorised a subsidy of £125, at the rate of £ for £ ou the Council's outlay. The letter also stated that the Government intended opening up Thompson's track as soon as possible. The usual quarterly meeting of Upper Thames Wesleyan circuit, was held in the Wesleyan Church, Te Aroha, last night, Rev. S. Griffith, minister of the circuit, oc. cupying the chair. The funds of the circuit were reported to be in a very healthy condition. It was decided to open up a tortnightlj service at Waiorongomai.
