Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.-Copyright. London, April 2. In view of the alarming prevalence of contagious diseases in the Indian army, disclosed in the recent departmental report, Lord George Hamilton, Secretary for India, proposes that the cantonment rules applying to cholera and small-pox shall bo extended to all contagious diseases. If this proposal is not adopted other measures will be taken to increase the powers of the medical officers to protect the troops.
