A NARROW ESCAPE.
[by teleqraph.—press association.] Woodvillk, Friday. Mr. Frakk Leckie, of the Government Insurance Office, Wellington, who is on a cycling tour, was riding through the Manawatu Gorge, yesterday, about half-past five p.m., when his machine struck a boulder in the middle of the road, and went over the bank. Mr. Leckio caught the branches ol a tree half way down, and landed on the edge of a rock, escaping unhurt. The machine went to the bottom and was badly smashed.
