[by telegraph.—press asssooiatkw.] Dunkdin, Friday, At a meeting to-njghb of the Publiq Library Association it was resolved that ill is desirable that a free public library should be established, and a committee was appointed to confer with the committee, having in hand the matter of the proposed purchase of the Colonial Bank buildings. Mr. R. Hudson wrote that he was prepared to subscribe £1000 towards the purchase of the Colonial Bank building, if nine others would give a similar, sum, or £sQQ_j(._' ..'. nineteen others would give a. similar donation.
