Messrs. 1 Abraham and Williams report on March 26Business in sheep during the past week has been brisk at our different yards. Sheep' have mustered freely. At Palmerston yesterday there was a full yarding. Prices have been fully maintained for all sorts, and practically total clearances effected. At Colyton, on Tuesday, cattle were without alteration. At Palmerston, a moderate demrnd existed, and the bulk disposed of. On Wednesday wo held a clear* ing sale of stock and sundries at Messrs. Todd Brothers' farm. A good class of milch cows were offered, which made from £3 2s 6d to £5; breeding ewes, _6s Id; culls, 2s lid; lambs, 2s to 4s. Sundries sold at full values. I'AHIATUA. Mr. D, Crewe, auctioneer, reports on March 211 At the fortnightly stock sale held at Hamua on Friday, the 19th, the entry consisted chiefly of cattle. There was a fair attendance oi the public. The following prices were realised Two-year-old steers, £ Is; weaners, 14s to 245. At the weekly horse and produce sale held at Pahiatua there was a good entry of horses, chiefly light harness horses and hacks. All tries were sold except three. The following prices were realised Draughts, £12 10s to £17; harness horses, £4 5s to £7: backs, £3 10s to £7. At Pahiutua fortnightly stock salo held on Tuesday, the 23rd, 5500 sheep aud 290 head of cattle were yarded. WAVERLEY. Messrs. F. R. Jackson and Co. report:— Our Wiiverley yards wore crammed full of both sheep and cattle, and with the exception of a fo.v pens, we sold all out at the quotations. We had the usual entry of horses for our fai" on Saturday. The quality was not so good, especially in draughts, anil the prices realised were low. At St. Hill-street yesterday (Wednesday) we had a good entry of sheep, and sold quite out at current rates. Only a few pigs came forward. OKAIAWA AND KL'I'HAM. The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited), Hawera, reports on March 'JO:—We held our monthly sale at Okaiawa on Thursday, the 18th inst. A large amount of cattle came forward, and being of good quality bidding was brisk, so that most lines changed hands. We quote; Store bullocks, £4 15s to £5 Is; 2to 2} years steers, £2 las to £3 7s Gd; fat cows, £2 IDs to £3 17s fid; store cows, £2 Is to £3; cows and calves, £3 2s to £3 17s fid ; dairy cons and heifers, £3 5s to £4 ss; yearlings, mixed, £1 2s fid to £1 12a Gd; weaners. mixed, lis fid to 19s. On Tuesday, the 23rd iust., we held an unreserved clearing sale on behalf of Mr. W. N. Jenkins, Elthain. The dairy cows were not in good condition, but for all that they sold vtry well, as did everything else offered. We quote: Dairy cows, £3 2s fid to £6 7s fid; lat cows, £3.
