WOMEN'S NATIONAL COUNCIL.
[by telegraph,—pki:ss association.) Ciiristohukch, Wednesday. The Women's Council to-day upheld the aotion of the executive in transferring the annual session to Christchurch. The Council tendered their thanks to Mr. Faithfull Begg, M.P., for his efforts on behalf of women's suffrage in England. Mrs, Wells road a paper advocating land nationalisation. It was resolved " That the time has come when the municipal franchise should be on tho same basis as the Parliamentary residential qualification." In the evening Mrs. Bullock read a paper advooating the election of women on the charitable aid boards and tho organisation of tho charitable bodies. She discountenanced cheap sales and low wages. It was resolved, " That the Council is of opinion that women should have seats on all local bodies dealing with charitable aid."
