(FROM OUR OWS CORRESPONDENTS.] Hamilton, Tuesday. A young man named Kelly met with a painful accident at Hamilton East on Sunday afternoon. Kelly was backing a horej out of a stable, when the animal, suddenly swerving, knocked him down on the brick floor, where he received a nasty wound on the head. He was taken to the hospital, and his injuries attended, and is now doing well. A man named McLean was also admitted to the hospital on Saturday suffering from a broken leg, received at the native race meeting at Morrinsville. McLean was holding a horse, which reared, and struck the young fellow with its front foot as it descended. Mr. E. (Nobby) Williamson, the wellknown footballer, hid the misfortune on Saturday evening to trip over a box, and falling heavily, break the small bone of one oi his leg 3, as well as sustain a severe sprain to one of his ankles, Mr. Wm. Odium, an old Hamiltonian, but who has been running a hotel at the Northern Wairoa for the last few years, was admitted to the hospital yesterday suffering from a bad attack of sciatica. Mr. Odium has been trying the Rotorua baths for some weeks, but has received little or no benefit from them. Ngardawahia, Tuesday. Two polo teams from Waingaro paid us a visit on Saturday and played matches against our senior and juuior teams. A good game between the senior teams resulted in a win for the visitors by six goals to three. The visitors also won the junior match by six , goals to nil. After the matches the visitors were entertained to a tea at the Waipa Hotel. It is proposed to hold polo sports here on Easter Monday, and to invite teams from Auckland and Kihikibi to attend.

Te Awamdtd, Tuesday. The monthly meeting of the Raugiaohia Road Board was held on Saturday. There were present: Messrs. Mandeno (chairman), Burke, Maokinder, and Turney. A letter was received from Mr. Lockwood, of Hunua, asking the board to call a meeting to appoint delegates to attend at the Metropolitan Hotel, Auckland, on March 31, for the purpose of discussing the ways and means of cooperating, so as to control and improve the price of agricultural produce for the benefit of the producer. Mr. C. Bowden was appointed clerk to the Board at a salary of £20 per annum, in place of Mr. Cruickshank, resigned. The farewell social givpn by the ladies of Te Awamutu to Mrs. Wilson was held on Thursday last, and was largely attended by visitors from all parts of the district. During the evening Mrs. Wilson was presented with a handsome watch and. chain, the presentation being made by Mrs. Lodr on behalf of the Ladies' Committee. The Sunday-school children also made a present of a handsome brooch to Miss Pratt, a young lady who has been a visitor at the vicarage for some time, and who had taken i great interest in the Suuday-school work.
