POLICE COURT.-Toesday.

[Before Mr. n. W. Brabant, S.M.I DRUNKm'ESS.-John Johnson and Edith Churton, second offenders, were each fined 10s, or in default 48 hours. Elizabeth Spiers pleaded not guilty to a charge of having been drunk and disorderly in Albert; Park, Evidence was given by two constables. ' She was convicted and punished by a fine of ss, in default 24 hours.

Theft op Flowers.—Elizabeth Spiers was then charged with stealing flowers, of the value of 6d, from the Albert Park. She pteaded uot guilty. Evidence was given by Mr. Goldie, caretaker of the Albert Park, and two constables. Accused was convicted and fined 10s and costs, or in default three days with hard labour. By-laws.-Wilton J. White was charged that on March 19, he did wheel a bicycle over the Cemetery bridge without having registered the said bicycle at the Town Clerk's office. Constable J. ilcConachie deposed to the machine not having a number on it. Defendant stated he had a receipt for a registration fee, paii in respect of auother machine which he hid sold on the 18th March. He, however, understood that if a person registered a cycle, but subsequently sold it, and purchased another, the registration would hold good for the second cycle. Mr. Turner said he hadallowed that to be done to avoid friction. His Worship said taking the strict reading of the by-law, hs muet hold that each machine must lie registered. The case was dismissed under the circumstances, and defendant promised to have the cycle registered.
