THE DARRELL DRAMATIC SEASON.

The "Queen of Coolgardio," the drama which will be presented tor the tirsb time ir. Auckland by Mr. George Darrell, at the Opera Hotiso to-nij>hfc, ie a play of intense oinotional interest as well as being highly sensational, The story opens in Melbourno during the period of the great land boom. It is a story of a man more sinned against than sinning; a story of a crime committed undor the mad impulse of despair, but afterwards nobly rodeemed; while a stern Nemesis overtakes the arch plotters, who tempted Karl Caradoc to his ruin. The action of the play is carried briskly on through a series of exciting situations, until in the last aet the drunalis ptrsonae are all grouped on the goldflelds of Coolgardie. Special attention has been paid by the management to produce perfect realisation of the locality, and the Australian critics bear ample testimony to the fidelity of tho scene. In this powerfully worked-up act justice is finally vindicated, and the heroine of tho piece is hailed by tho enthusiastic miiicre as the Queen of Coolgardie. This is but a mere sketch of a plot that literally bristles with finely-con-ceived situations finely acted by a company specially formed for tho interpretation of the drama. As it) has been staged under the immediate supervision of Mr. Darroll, a dramatic treat of unusual excellence may bo anticipated.
