In tho second part, will be given skeleton biographies of the more important personages who figure in the official lists of the first part, and ,of those who hold the positions in the Government services, in literature, science, art, and in the religious, financial, and sporting worlds., This second half of the book will, in fact, bo a, kind, of annual " Men of the Time.". ' , The bubonic plague, both at Bombay and Calcutta; is slightly diminishing, and the statistics for both places are more favour-: jiblo. Up to the present moment IJH cases 'have been recorded in the tw.o : cities, and. there have been 282 deaths
