Captain Tate, of the barque Helen Denny, is at present on a visit to Auckland. Dr. Murray-Aynsley, late of Christchurch Hospital, has commenced practice in Eketahana. Mr. R. A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Mark's Church, Wellington, on Monday, when Mr. J. D. Barnett, well known in connection with athletic matters, was married to Miss Nellie Page, daughter of Mr. J. E. Page, Town Clerk of Wellington. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore her travelling dress of French blue cloth, with velvet hat to match, and was ' attended as bridesmaid by her sister, Miss Annie Page, dressed in dark blue Aetrachan cloth, with black velvet hat to match. Mr. F. Pownall acted as best man, and the Rev. R. Coffey performed the ceremony. The * Wedding March' was played by Mr. Watkins at the close of the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Barnett left in the afternoon for the Wairarapa, where the honeymoon is to be spent. A social meeting of the Horse Shoe Bash Society was held on the 29th May. There was a large attendance, the room being filled to its utmost capacity. Mr. Finlay made a most efficient chairman.''
