Another round of the Championship Singles was played on Saturday. Mr. Colbeek met Mr. J. L. R. Moomfield. The latter player showed very considerable improvement, and his defeat of Mr. Beatty inclined some to consider he had a good show for the Championship with Colbeck. At the first hole both had drives, but the hole fell to Colbeck, sto 6. Mr. Bloomfield won the second hole, with a perfect 4 to his opponent's 5. Mr. Colbeck then went away with three holes in succession, playing 4, 3, 6, for the third and fourth holes. Mr. Bloomfield then won the Forest hole by 6 to his opponents' 8. Mr. Colbeck won the next two holes, 5 and 7, his opponent giving op after several attempts at the wall. Mr. Bloomfield played for the last hole. This left Colbeck 3up the turn. Commencing the second round Bloomfield won 5 to 7. The next play was bad by both, and resulted in a half with 7Mr. Bloomfield bore throw away a golden opportunity, and Colbeck won the next two holes in 4's to Bloomneld's s's. The Remuera hole wag well half in 5, and at the next hole Mr, Colbeck won by 6 to 8, and thereby won the match by 5 up and three to play. The remaining rounds of the Championship to be played are: Colbeck and Kyd and O'Rorke and Gillies. O'Rorke plays Gillies on Wednesday, and Colbeck plays Kyd on Saturday. The final of tho Handicap Doubles will be played next Baturday between Messrs. Norton and Arnold and Messrs. Bloomfield and Bui urn
Next Saturday also Mr. Heather's Bogey Cup will be played for. The links are in splendid order, and it is hoped by the members that when the squadron eomes into port a match can be arranged between the club, the squadron, and the Government Heuse party. ___________
