CENSUS RETURNS.
The enumerators of tho Uppor Thames district have compiled a list of returns in connection with the census, and according to this statement tho population of the Ohinemuri county is made up as follows .—From Hikutaiato Whangam&ta, Waihi, and Waitekauri, 3500; Karangahake, Waitawheba, and Owharoa, 900; Paeroa, 2500 : total, 6900. The total population of Ohinemuri County at the census of 1891 was 1516. There is thus a large increase.
The county of Whnngarei has a population of 7005, increase 885 j Whangaroa, 976, increase 90,
