It was carried on the motion of Mr. Archibald, seconded by Mr. Taylor, "That the ratepayers do ' hereby instruct the Board to withdraw from the principal Board for Dairy Inspection, and cease to act as a contributing Board." The , Chairman stated that the Board appeared , powerless to prevent that portion of the Mangere district lying on the Otahuhu side of the Mangero railway crossing _ being attached to the Otahuhu Road District, but they had been informed that they might apply for < a re»adjustment of the ■ cost of - maiutainance of the Mangere Bridge. Mr. W. F. Manor, M.ER. thought it desirable that the question of the maintainancu of the bridge should be again raised. Mr. Archibald said that if the i settlers in that portion of the district which is to be attached to Otahuhu succeeded in escaping their share of the liability to maintain Mangere Bridge, other portions of the district would follow suit. A good deal of discussion followed on this and other ques- . tions of importance in the district. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the • proceedings.—[Own Correspondent.]
