4. AUCKLAND. MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN WEEKLY REPORT. Horse feed, grain, seeds: Rather large quantities of maize eamo forward, and resulting in a slight decline in value, other cereals without alteration, We quote: Maize, on wharf, 2s lid bushel, ex store 3s 2d to 3« 3d ; feed outs, 2s 3d ; seed oats, 2s 4d to 2s Gd ; Dun oats, 2s Gd ; bran, £4 ton ; oaten chaff, £3 5s to £3 10s ton. The demand for grans seed declining; rye-grass, 3s 3d to 4s 6d : Poverty Hay, Us (id; cooksfont, 5s to 6s 6d bushel. Horses : Above an average number were brought forward. Medium to heavy draught sold at the previous week's values. A good many wore submitted by auction at the Durham Yards, on Friday, for which there was good competition. For heavy draught, from £12 to £18 10s; medium draught, £8 KXs to £15; light harness, £4 10s to £9; hacks, £3 10s to i'B 15s. Wool, htdoß. skiu, tallow, bones: At the Durham Yards, on Friday, considerable quantities met ready demand. Extra stout ox hide, up to 74d lb; stout ox, 4d to sd: steer and cow, 2Jd to 3Jd ; calf skins, 2Jd to 3Jd ; horse hides, 5s 3d each ; tallow, interior quality, 14s 6d to 14s 9d owt; bones, £2 15s to £2 17b 6d ton: sheepskins, Is fid to 4s 9(1 oach; pells, 2d to Is la ; lamb skins, Is 9d to 2a Gd ; wool, fleece, 5Jd to 6sdll>; pieces, 3jd to 4jd. Cattle: Increased numbers were brought forward, and the previous week's values barely sustained. The Newmarket ysids were moderately filled on Tuesday, and there was a fair muster at Papakura on Wednesday. No noteworthy change in the value of dairy and fat stocks, but there was an improved demand for stores; ox beet sold at 18s to 19s per KXJ'.h, cow 17s, dairy cows from £4 10s to £7 los; dry cow £1 7s 6.1 to £3, calves 12s lid to 203, yearlings £1 7s Gd to £1 12s fld, two-year-old steers £2, £2 10s, grown steers £3 7s Gd to £5 ss, heifers £1 10s to £2 15s. Sheep: Plentiful at Newmarket on Tuesday ; well fatted were in brisk demand: wethers sold at from 9s 9.1 to 1 "is Gd, ewes 6s to 10s 9(1, lambs 4s Gd to 10s 3.1, store ewes 3s 3d to 4s 3d, store iambs 2s 3d to 3a. Pigs: Moderate supply of porkers, sold at from lo* to 33s each. MESSRS. ALFRKD DOCKLAND AND SONS' WKKKLY REPORT, At Rcimierii on Thursday, dairy cows in moderate supply sold freely ; prices for those at profit ranged from £4 10s to £8. Store ca'ile in full numbers, were in belter inquiry. Mnfsrs Reid hers' steers brought £4 ss; cows, £2 2s to £5; '-' vear-old bulls, £6 ami £(i 111*; bull calves, 303 to £3 10i each. Young and fat calves in average numbers, sold satisfactorily. Fat cattle in less than average supply, 19') yarded, sold irregularly nt his:, good steers were at 20s, but fell to 19s as ibe sale proceeded, and cows were lower than of late throughout. Sheep yarded numerously at first, were lower than at last week's sale, but improved as tho auction proceeded. Fat wethers bmueht from 7s Gd to 14s 3d ; fat ewes, 7s to 12s 9d ; store sheep, 3s 3d to 6s each. Pigs in moderate supply; 69 sold, were at Into values, and choioo quality boater worth. MESSRS. O. W. BINNEY AND BONB' REPORT. On Tuesday we cleared an extra large catalogue of hides, sheep skins, tallow, etc, Hides: Competition brisk throughout, and late quotations fully maintained, with upward tendency on medium ox and cow. Prime ox sold from 6Jd to 7sd, extra stout, 5d to Gil ; stout, 4d to 4.U ; medium, 3Jd to 3Jd ; light and sheety, 2|d to 3d ; cow, best line? 3}d to 3jjd; medium,3d; inferior,2Jd to 2iH; calf, 3d to 3Jtl, for good lots. Damaged ot classes nominal. i Sheep skins: Local green and best country salted, large, 3s 3d to 3s 6d; medium, 3s; small, 2s to 2s Gd ; dry equal to 5d per lb for woll woollod. Tallow : Dull of sale, with downward tendency. Sales from 14s to 16s per cwt for good ordinary. Rough fat, Id to Igd per lb.
