Wellington, Thursday. . The imports Into New Zealand during the March quarter were £1,712,628 against £1.755,672 in 1895. The exports were £4,327,032 against £3,584,840. The principal increases wee in wool, frozon meat, wheat, oats, butter, and gold, which amount to £2.829.294 as against £2,190,902 for tho corresponding quarter last year. The gold entered for export in March quartorwasns follows:—Auckland, £93,931; Marlborough, £1910; Nolson, £4991; West Coast, £102.078; Otago, £98,192: total, £301,503. Up to Maroli 31 the total proceeds of the Now Zealand goldfieldg was £51,652,504. For the samo quarter last year the amount was £267,585.
