Maoky, who lately was bereaved of her husband. Messrs. J. Russell, T. Morrin,Weir, Colebourne, and Waikham have been spending a few days at Walhi, visiting Bome of the more important claims. At a sitting ol the Magistrate's Court, Mr. H. Eyre-Kenny, S.M., gave judgment iu the case of J. McAndrew v. 6. Crosbie and A. R. Ross, which was adjourned for decision, as to whether it came under the meaning of the Contractors, and Workmen's Lien Act, His Worship, in giving his decision, held that there was no doubt the Act aid apply, and that "work" included material for building purposes. Judgment would therefore be t»iven against Crosbie —£63, and against Rosa for £1612? f costs, £6125, to be borne equally by defendants. In the case of J. McAndrew v. Cassrells and Bennett and A. R. Moss, judgment was entered up for plaintiff with costs, £2 16s.
