Nearly half the audience was composed of ladies. The hon. gentleman was listened to throughout! with the greatest attention and intoresb. His epocch was practically the same as that ab - Auckland, though the speaker reforred in some detail to the necessity for Bottling the lands in this district held by the Assets Board. Ho said this courso should bo followed in preference to taking lands already occupied and paying taxes, A vote of thanks, movod by Mr. T. W. Hicks and seconded by Mr. Joseph (Jane, was carried unanimously.
