Thames, Saturday. A meeting af tho local Poultry Club was hold in the Borough Chamber this evening, the president (Mr. Thomas Radford) presiding. After tho minutes of the prorious meeting wore read and confirmed, tho resolution passed at the last meeting delaying the printing of tho club's rules, was rescinded, and the committee was requested to further proceed with them. A letter from tho secretary of the Auckland Suburban Poultry Club was received, stating that tho dates for tho Auckland Shows had been altered, so that it would be advisable to alter the date of the proposed Show to hold by the Thames club. It was decided to altr the date of tho latter Show to tho 17th and 18th of duly next, and the secretary was empowered to engage tho St. Georgo's Hall for those days. The question of having posters printed for the show was left in the hands of tho sub-dommifteo, and it was decided to hold an art union in connection with the shitw. After other formal business was transacted tho proceedings terminated. The annual Easter fSto of the local Courts of Foresters, which is to come off at Parawai 011 Monday, promises to bo the ino3t successful affair evor held here. A splendid programme of sports has been provided, for which the entries are very numerous, and includes several well-known Auckland athletes, as woll as our best local sprinters. The cycling events, for which the entrants are all Auckland men, are being looked forward to with great interest, especially tho costume race. It is anticipated that there will bo a very largo gathering of the public present during the day, as it is rumoured hero that the'two steamers engaged for the excursion trip from Auckland will bo patronised to their utmost capacity, whilst a large contingent is also sure to como down from the upcountry district*.
