DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN THAMES RESIDENT.
[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Thursday. A prominent citizen, in tho person of Mr. If. L. Koeford, passed over to tho great majority last evening, after about a fortnight's illness, which first took tho form of low fever, and then assumed more serious phases. Deceased, who was a native of Denmark, but who had resided at the Thames for tho last ninetcon years, was for several years a member of tho borough council as one of tho representatives for the south ward, and also a member of tho Charitable Aid Board for two years, tilling tho position of chairman of the latter body, but he retired from active service about eighteen months ago. At tho time of his death, however, he was a member of tho Thames Licensing Committee. He leaves a wife and grown up family of live, for whom great sympathy is felt in their sad bereavement.
