MANGERE DOMAIN BOARD.
The annual meeting of the above Board was held on January 30, at the residence of Mr. James Robertson, J. P. Present: Messrs. R. Wallace, J. Robertson, and M.M. Eirkbride (chairman). The Secretary (Mr. E. Hall) submitted the accounts and balance-sheet for the year ending December 31, 1895, which was as follows: —Receipts: Balance brought forward from December 31,1894, £264 Is 2d; license fees, £109 83 9d: interest, £3 10s; contractors' deposit, £3; Bank of Australasia, £100: total, £479 193 lid. Expenditure : Fences and hedges, material £6 14s 6d, labonr £33 16s; gates and approaches, £57 10s; trees, £2 Os 9d; advertising and printing, £3 ss; stationery, 6a ; design for laying out domain, £20; salaries, ranger £1519s sd, secretary for 1894 and 1895, £20; savings bank, £100; cash in bank, £200 16s 9d; cash in hand, £2 2s 6d: total, £479 19s lid. The balance-sheot was adopted. On the motion of Mr. Robertson, Mr. Kirkbride was reelected chairman for the ensuing year. The report of Mr. H. H. Metcalfe, hydraulic engineer, on the most suitable water Bupply for the domain, was laid before the meeting. He recommended the proposal to take the water from the Onehunga main, the size of the pipe to be used to be one inch and a quarter best galvanised wrought iron, which would deliver about 400 gallons an hour, The estimated cost was placed at £195 12s. The length of piping required would be one mile and a quarter. Specifications, etc., accompanied the report, which was adopted. The secretary was instructed to make further inquiries re piping before a meeting held in March, when the work will probably'be put in hand at once.
