LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
[ay tsleorAph,-6wn correspondent,] Wellington, Thursday. The Minister of Lands will probably go South next week. Several estates in Marlborough have boeii offered to the Government for purchase as kind for settlement, under the Land for Settlements' Act. Mr. Mackerrow, the Land Purchase officer under that Act, has inspected these lauds, and will report upon thoir suitability. He will prbbably meet the Minister of Lands in Christchurch,
