CHARGES AGAINST PUBLICANS.
[By TISLnQRAP»,-PftE.SB ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, Thursday, At the Police Court today, A. Palmer, licensee of Wain's Hotel, Was charged With hot giving a barmaid a half-holiday. The offence was admitted, but it wan urged that the barmaid had been told to arrange with the barman about the holiday. A fine of 2% and £1 9a 6d costs was imposed. For supplying With liquor a women undor the influence of drink, R. Walsh, licensee of the Albion Hotol, was fined 40a and costs, his license bo be endorsed. Abtapanui, in the Clutha District, H. Maynard was fined 6s for drawing beer from a cask without first destroying the duty stamp. As the beer had been forfeited and Maynard was new to the business he escaped with n fine of ss.
