This property is situated on the north shore of the Mnnukau Harbour, within three miles by water of the wharf and railway station at Onehunga, and seven miles of Auckland by a good road. The ground has been examined by Coal Mining Kxperts, who have reported very favourably, and they are unanimous in the opinion 'hat all the indications prove it to ho a great coal bearing country. Mr. W. B. Brain, Coal Mining Expert, in his exhaustive report, says that "The strata is fully exposed along the coa»t and southern boundary, it is well defined and clear, and can be thoroughly examined. It consists of regular beds or layers of sound, healthy, solid grey to blue gray coloured sandstone, carrying those characteristics, marks, and indications, which prove it to belong to the coal healing measures, and of the character, nature, and appearance of sandstone that forms the roof, and ii found immediately on top of the coal seams ; this is verified and much more marked in the small .-haft, at the bottom of which the stone is impregnated with lists and thin lines and layers oi coal, out of which I picked several small well formed hard pieces of coal, etc., etc., and a seam of coal may be expected immediately underneath the strata now visinle at the bottom of the shaft, which could be easily ascertained without much expenditure of capital by boring to the depth of 00 to 160 feet, as it is quito probable that there may be more than one seam of coal, an.l that the first seam or seams may be comparatively small, and then be immediately followed by a seam of sufficient thickness to be practically and economically worked," and in conclusion Mr. Brain says that, " I have no hesitation in saying that you have a property showing the indications oi a good and true coal tearing country, with unrivalled facilities for cariying the coal to Onehiuiga and Auckland, and under proper supervision and systematic working, should piove u commercial success." The immense advantages from the discovery of coal on Ibis property, botli to shareholders and to the general public, owing to the close proximity to Auckland ami Onehtinga, are self-evident, and it tuny .-afejj be asserted that should a coal field be opened up here, it will possess much greater commercial value than a gold mine. It is proposed to form u syndicate for the purpose of further developing this property, and Forty Shares at £10 each are offered to the public. As these sharos are being rapidly taken up, intending subscribers should make early application for the few shares remaining unallotted. Applications lor shares will be received at Mr. Kelsall's, Queen-street, onelmuga, and at A. R. T. Haultain's office, 6a, Free Exchange, Auckland, whore all information may be obtained. A. M.
