THE WELLINGTON RACING CLUB'S SUMMER MEETING. The above mealing will bo commenced today, when the Wellington Cup will be decided. The fact of Mr. L. D. Nathan's representative Stepfeldt occupying the position of favourite for that race much Auckland interest as a consequence is centred in the result. Stepfeldt has been responsible for some capital work since she was taken down to Wellington, and she is reported to be very well. The race is, however, on all hands, voted to be very open ; and amongst the others considered very dangerous are Bessie McCarthy, Lady Zetland, Skirmisher, and The Shrew. Wellington, Tuesday, No work of importance was done at the Hutt this morning, rain, which began to fall Inst evening, continuing up to half-past six this morning. The weather then cleared, and a number of horses worked before breakfast. Lady Zetland and Saracen galloped six furlongs at top, tho latter having the best of it.
