All persons interested in the formation of a Branch of the Navy League in Auckland are invited to attend a Meeting to be held in the Harbour Board Offices, on MONDAY, 20th inst., at 3 p.m. The Navy League is a strictly non-party organisation, to urge upon the Nation the paramount importance of an adequate Navy as the best guarantee of peace. The general aims of the Navy league arefa) To spread Information, showing the vital importance to the British Empire of Naval supremacy upon which depend its trade, empire, and national existence. (b) To call attention to the enormous demands which war would make upon the Navy, and to the fact that the Navy is not at present ready to meet them.
