The Union Company's steamer Dinpadee, which has replaced the Australia in the trade for the present, arrived from Wellington and East Coast ports on Wednesday afternoon. Captain John Gibb is in command, and the deck officers are the same as in the Australia, Mr. McGill being chief engineer and Mr. Livingstone second, while Mr. P. Wheeler has replaced Mr. Reeves in the position of purser. The Ding-nice left Wellington at midnight on the 18th inst., and arrived at Napier at 11 p.m. on the 19th. Left again at 6 p.m. on the 'Sjth, and arrived alongside the breakwater at Gisborne at 6 a.m. on the '21st. The following lhave been the movements of vessels during the month On November 29 the New Zealand Shipping Company's cargo steamer Te Koa arrived from London direct after an uneventful voyage. She went as far as Wellington and returned to this port again and took in a large consignment of frozen meat and wool for London, and is now at Waitara, whence she proceeds South to complete her loading. Messrs. Donald »nd Edenboroagh's steamer Richmond arrived from Tahiti and Rarotonga on November 30th with' cotton, copra, fruit, etc., and left for the same ports on the 4th instant, with a large miscellaneous cargo. castle to load coal for Valparaiso. Thtr Cook Islands Trading Company's brigan tine Linda Weber sailed for a ornise to the Cook Group the same date with a very large general cargo, and loads Island produce back to this port. On the Ist the Uniou Company's steamer Ovalau arrived from the Islands with raw sugar, etc., and left On the 4th for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji with a cargo of timber, produce, etc. The mail steamer Mariposa arrived from San Francisco, Honolulu, and Apia < n the 4th instant after a very fast trip, landing her mails a day ahead of time. The hrigantine Lady Mabel .sailed for Mercury Bay to load timber for Sydney on the 4th, and is now on her way to the latter port. On the sth the fine cargo steamer India, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, left for the South to complete her loading of wooi, etc., for London. Whilst in port the steamer was taken into Calliope Dock, and cleaned and painted. Captain Trotter, the commander of the steamer, expresses himself as being very well satisfied with the despatch given his vessel while in the dock, and also at the expenses. The Union Company's steamer Upolu left for Fiji on the sth with a mis- | cellaneous cargo, and returned on the 19th with raw sugar, fruit, etc. Ihe Union Company'ssteamer Taieri arrived from Fiji on the 7th with a large cargo of rawsugar, and left for Newcastle on the I'-tli, and is now on her way to this port with a cargo of coal. The barquentine sabol sailed on the 7th for an Island cVuise, calling at Tonga and Nine. On the 7tli the schooner Orpheus sailed tor Norfolk island, and is expected back about next wetk. Oil tho 11th the Tyser Company's fine .new steamer Star of New Zealand arrived from London, via Australian ports, with general cargo. This is the second voyage of the steadier, and she has maintained her reputation, nO»t only as a large cargo carrier, but also a fast yssscl. Her steaming time to Melbourne was 43 i.»ys 3 hours, while her time to this port, includiuO detentions, at Las I'almas, Melbourne, and Syduey was only 03 days,which is the record, aud was accomplished under adverse ciicumstances, a good deal of very bad weather being encountered on the voyage. She left for Southern ports to complete hsr loading for Loudon. The barqueutine AJbertma Bailed for New York on tho 11 til, with. cargo of kauri gum. On the 13th the barque Northern Chief arrived from Newcastle with coal, and sails next week for Kaipara to load timber for Sydney. On the 13th, the barquentiuu tlauda Isle arrived from Wolloiigong with coal, and has sailed for Whangarei to load timber for Sydney. On the 14th the Union Company's steamer Taviuui arrived from the Islands, with raw sugar, etc. She left for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, on the ISth, with a general cargo. The Union Company's steamer Poherua arrived from Fiji, on tho lath, with raw sugar, and left for the same place again on the "Jot.li, to load raw sugar back to this port. On the 17th, the Melauesian Mission yacht Southern Cross, arrived from the Islands. Owing to the crew suffering severely from an attack of fever and ague, the vessel missed a number of the usual stopping places at the Banks and New Hebrides Groups. The Southern Cross remains in port until March next. The Union Company's steamer Ohau arrived from Fiji with raw sugar on the 18th. Ou the 22nd the Union Co.'s chartered steamer, Mount Siriou, arrived from Calcutta anil Singapore with a cargo of geuera! Eastern produce. She left for Wellington on the "24th, and on discharge proceeds to the Bluff, Port Chalmers, and Tiinaru to load wool, etc., for Loudon for the New Zealand Shipping Company. On the 24th the American barque Alice arrived from New York, via Wellington, with a part cargo of general merchandise, which she commences discharging to-day, and on completion loads kauri gum and tlax for New York. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's ship Crusader has completed her loading for London, and will sail to morrow. The ship Borrowdale, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, will complete her loading for Loudon and sail next week. The steel ship I'rius Valdemar is now on the voyage from Rio de Janeiro to this port, and follows the Borrowdale on the London berth.
