DEATH OF AN OLD THAMES RESIDENT.
[BT TEIiEORAPn.-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Monday. It is with regret that I have to announce the death of Mr. William Murdoch, which tad event took place at the hospital about seven o'clock this morning. Deceased had been suffering from a carbuncle on the neck for some time past, and in order to obtain more skilful treatment he entered the hospital last Tuesday, where everything possible was done to effect a (jure, bub unfortunately blood poisoning set in and ultimately resulted in his death. Deceased was a very old and bighly-respeoted resident at the Thames, and a few years ago ha was a member of the Thames County Council. He was a farmer by occupation, and for many years lived on his farm in the Kauaeranga Valley, bub latterly his attention had been much engaged in looking after bis interests in Block 27 of this township, of which he was one of the proprietors. He took a great interest in the local Burns Club, of which he was one of tho most prominent members, and much of its success is due to his untiring efforts.
