FOOTBALL. WAIROA RUGBY UNION. The monthly meeting of the above was held on Wednesday evening;, at Aratapu, Mr. Geo. Meredith in the chair. There were also present: Messrs. T. Elliott (Kopuru), T. Neild and E. Bassett (Aratapu), L. Hatching and T. Keane (Arapohue), J. McCoy (Aoroa), and J. Meill and J. McKay (Dargaville). It was reported that Mr. Joe Morrison was still unable to work owing to the injuries he had received in the Aoroa-Arapohue match. It was resolved to grant him a further sum of £4. This leaves a balance of 15s 3d to the credit of the accident fund. Mr. T. Neild moved, in accordance with notice given, " That the resolution of the Union giving the Aratapu-Aoroa match of May 9th to Aoroa be rescinded." This gave rise to a warm discussion. Although each club in the Union was represented, it was urged that there was no quorum present, as the Auckland Rugby Union by-laws made eleven a quorum. After a good deal of warm discussion, the motion was carried on the voices.
